International air transportation International cargo transportation refers to the transportation of goods between countries and regions. International cargo transportation includes international trade material transportation and international non-trade material transportation. Since international cargo transportation is mainly international trade material transportation, non-trade material transportation is only part of the business of the trade material transportation department.

What we introduce today is an overview of the international transportation objects of air logistics. International air transportation and air logistics transportation objects are generally divided into the following three types:

International Air Express

1. From the perspective of cargo form

Bulk cargo (cargo in bulk) does not require packaging and can be directly loaded into the means of transportation. Most of these cargoes are goods that are difficult or not worth packaging, such as agricultural and mineral products such as wheat, grains, coal, and pig iron.

Nuded cargo is a piece of cargo that is naturally formed in form and can be formed into pieces without packaging or a little bundling, such as cigarette film, steel, copper ingots and vehicles.

Packed cargo refers to goods that must go through a certain amount of packaging before they can enter the market. Most consumer goods and industrial manufactured products need to be packed.

2. From the nature of the goods

Air Cargo-General Cargo Regulations:

(1) National regulations

When transporting goods, the relevant regulations of the country of origin, transit and arrival of the goods shall be taken into consideration. The country of origin stipulates that goods that are not allowed to be exported cannot be transported, and the goods that are not allowed to be imported are not allowed to be transported by air in the relevant country. Goods that are not allowed to transit through the country are not allowed to pass through the country.

(2) Amount limit

For air transportation, the declared value of each shipment shall not exceed US$100,000 or its equivalent currency. If it exceeds this limit, it must be approved by the relevant airlines or the competent department of the Civil Aviation Administration of China. Due to height, transportation time and other reasons, fresh and live goods will deteriorate. Therefore, only fresh and perishable goods that are not perishable during normal transportation can be transported, and the tonnage must be determined in advance. The words "PERISHABLE" should be prominently displayed on the outer packaging of the goods, the freight bill and related documents. Some fresh and perishable goods need to be protected by dry ice, the packaging must be intact, and the dry ice must not leak. The outer packaging of the goods should indicate the net weight of the dry ice inside.

(6) Wet goods

Wet goods refer to fresh and perishable goods that contain moisture or may emit water, including frozen goods, wet flowers, vegetables, soft fruits and other goods that can seep or return to moisture. The packaging of wet goods must prevent water leakage.

(7) Baggage transported as cargo

Luggage carried as cargo is limited to the clothes of the passenger and travel-related items. The suitcase must be locked. If the passenger asks for the key, it can be accepted, but it should be put in a sealed envelope and attached to the freight bill. The freight bill must indicate the passenger ticket number and the passenger ticket. Itinerary, flight number and date. In the ENDORSEMENT column of the ticket, the words "UBAG", the number of the freight bill, the number of pieces and the weight should be indicated.

(8) Dangerous goods

The transportation of dangerous goods must be handled in accordance with the provisions of the International Civil Aviation Organization's relevant dangerous goods transportation regulations, and the relevant airline must be contacted. The agent must not make any claims. At the same time, it must be noted that certain goods are not classified as dangerous goods from the name, but they actually contain dangerous substances. For example, if the breathing apparatus contains compressed gas or oxygen, it is dangerous goods.

(9) Diplomatic pouch

Diplomatic pouch refers to a pouch of official documents used as goods to be transported between the diplomatic department of a country and the country's representative offices abroad. The diplomatic letter bag should have a good seal, and the packaging and weight should be checked. If the packaging and seals are not good and the transportation is refused, the diplomatic pouch shall be delivered to the destination on time. In addition to diplomatic pouches, there are also diplomatic goods, which should also be shipped out as soon as possible.

3. From the weight of the cargo

Airport air freight-weight cargo: The weight of the cargo is calculated based on the gross weight, the unit of measurement is kg, and the mantissa of the weight less than 1 kg is rounded up. The minimum freight for each air waybill is RMB 30. Valuables are calculated based on the actual gross weight, and the unit of calculation is 0.1 kg. Light foam cargo: refers to cargo with a volume weight of less than 333 kg per cubic meter. Its volume is calculated based on the dimensions of the highest, longest and widest part of the outer profile of the goods (packaged goods).
